The basic science of global warming says: The suns radiation comes in in the form of light waves. Then, some of the radiation that is absorbed and warms the Earth is re- radiated back into space in the form of infrared radiation. Some of that radiation is trapped by one layer of atmosphere and it warm the Earth. That keeps the temperature of the Earth within certain boundaries. The problem is this thin layer of atmosphere is being thickened by our global warming pollution, so more outgoing infrared radiation is trapped. And so the atmosphere heats up worldwide.
