5 ANIMALS NEED AIR Animals need to spend sometime outdoors. They need the fresh air just like we need fresh air. Spend time exercising your animal. This will make them healthy! Click on the website to find out more information.

Just like we need water to survive, animals need water too. If animals do not get enough clean water, they will get sick quickly and die. Also make sure that the container that the water is in is clean. Clean, cool water is particularly important for all animals, and especially: when the weather is hot for animals that spend a lot of time out in the sun for animals that have been working or exercising for animals that eat mainly dried food like cat or dog biscuits or mouse or guinea pig pellets for mothers that are nursing young animals Click on the cat to learn more about water for animals.

7 Animals Need Food!! Animals need the right kind of food to survive. Just like we need food for energy, so do animals. Make sure you feed them the right kind of food. 8 Animals Need Shelter Animals need a shelter. This shelter or home needs to protect them from the hot, cold, and from danger. Also the place in which the animal lives has to have all the necessities they need in order to survive.

10 The Lifecycle of an Animal
fast. This is an example of the life cycle of chicken. You can see if starts off as an egg and then grows into an adult. Once it is an adult, the chicken will lay an egg and the cycle will start all over again. This is an example of a lifecycle of an animal. Most animals start out as an egg. After the baby hatches or is born live (mammals), then the baby quickly grows. 11 The Animals We Have at Home
While in class, the students graphed the pets they had at home. This is an example of how to incorporate math with our learning of animals. This chart is an example of a graph that the teacher can do in the classroom.
