A stringy sentence is a sentence that has too many ands. A stringy sentence is more than one sentence joined together by and. You have to break a stringy sentence into shorter sentences. Each shorter sentence should have a naming part and an action part.

I went fishing last Saturday and I caught a big fish and I had fun on the lake.
I went swimming while I was on the lake and I saw a frog and the frog was green.
I caught the frog and the frog wiggled in my hand and then he jumped away.
We are going back to the lake this weekend and I’m going to go fishing again and I hope I catch another big fish.
