3 Can you tell me about these? What are the imaginary worlds in the book Hobbledown? How do the characters move between these worlds? Who are the good characters and what are their names? Who are the bad characters and what are they called? What is the problem in the story? How do the good characters solve the problem? What is the twist at the end of the story?

4 Todays Lesson (2) We are going to: summarise a chapter of Hobbledown. use complex sentences and connectives.

5 Simple Sentences Look at these sentences. Can you tell me why they are called ‘Simple sentences’? The ‘Field of Confusion’ is a muddlesome maze of willow. Bobilly is a bearded goat.

6 Adding Connectives Which words are connectives? Hobblers have to walk through the copse to reach Potenesia and this is where Rumpletump lives. Bobilly is a bearded goat with excellent climbing skills.

7 “ A Mysterical Day ” Turn to page 44 Summarise the chapter and use the check list below to help you. What are the main points of the chapter? Which characters are involved? Are we introduced to any new characters? if so who are they? I have used simple and complex sentences. I have used connectives. I have used punctuation and capital letters when appropriate.
