2 NEW AUSTRALIAN CURRICULUM STARTS IN 2015 The new Australian Curriculum commences in 2015 for all Year 11 students. The new Australian Curriculum commences in 2015 for all Year 11 students. By 2016 the Australian Curriculum will be used by all States in Australia – including Western Australia. By 2016 every student will graduate at the end of Year 12 with a Western Australian Statement of Student Achievement – WASSA. 6 INTERNATIONAL STREAM - General Courses General courses: basically like Stage 1 & 2 courses; sit SIC exams at end of each semester; 1 formal assessment per course. 9 SIC COURSES – YEAR 11 Elective Courses: While students only need 3 electives on the Form You must write down 4 choices. Why?  In some cases, due to your combination of choices, it may not be possible to do an elective.  Or too many students wish to do the same elective or not enough students are interested in a course.

14 INTERNATIONAL STREAM - WASSA Extra things to remember about doing a WASSA: Courses are easier than the Australian Stream ATAR program – so easier to get higher grades.
