2 Sardinians love to celebrate their culture and traditions. No matter where you are and what time of year, there will be a local festival happening.

3 Festivals give any visitor to Sardinia the opportunity to experience some of the cultural heritage of the island.

4 Sardinian festivals January - New Year's Eve in Alghero; Sea Urchin Festival in Alghero. February - Sa Sartiglia in Oristano; Bosa Carnival. March - The Artichoke Festival in Uri.

5 April - Saint George's Day - April 23rd; Sardinia Day - April 28th. May - Sant'Efisio; Cavalcata Sarda. June - Cherries Festival; St. John the Baptist Day.

6 July - S'Ardia Horse Race. August - The Archers Tournament; Fireworks and Fried Fish. September - ‘Fiesta Saint Miquel’ in Alghero; Festival of Saint Michael.

7 October - Chestnut Fair. November - Mountain Products Agricultural Fair. December - Signum Judici.

8 In the end of February ‘Sa Sartiglia’ in Oristano It is the most spectacular and choreographed Carnival in Sardinia. An equestrian game with ancient origins in which brave costumed horsemen compete with another one in a tournament to wear a prized mask.
