4 Cultural Emotional Environmental Financial Intellectual Physical Social Spiritual What is Wellness? We believe an individual’s overall health and well-being is an integration of eight dimensions of wellness. We believe striving for a balance of these areas is an essential part of self-care:

5 Involves exploring cultural backgrounds, promoting understanding, awareness, and intrinsic respect for diversity within interpersonal relationships, and proactively creating safer, inclusive spaces in the community. Cultural Wellness

6 Involves understanding ‘self’ in terms of emotions, identity, ethics, and perspective and adequately facing the challenges life brings Emotional Wellness

7 Involves understanding the dynamic relationship between the environment and people, recognizing that we are responsible for the quality of the air, water, and earth that surrounds us and in-turn, that social, natural, and built environments affect our health and well-being Environmental Wellness

8 Involves setting long and short-term goals to reach personal financial goals and achieve self-defined success Financial Wellness

9 Involves opening minds to new ideas and experiences in a way that leads to self-defined academic and professional growth and success Intellectual Wellness

10 Involves maintaining a healthy quality of life that allows us to get through our daily activities without undue fatigue or physical stress. Physical wellness is not only the absence of illness, but also living a thriving, active life Physical Wellness

11 Involves successfully interacting with others, participating in and feeling connected to your communities, and to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces for all individuals Social Wellness
