3. GENERAL FEATURES EXPANDO slitting system is suggested for all applications with an high number of slits and frequent dimension changes. EXPANDO is a tangential slitting system composed of two units, a knife holder and a bottom knife connected by means of an engaging pneumatic piston. The knife holder is mounted on a linear bearing bracket sliding on a linear rail complete with dual pneumatic clamps for locking system. The carriage is also complete with a mechanical handbrake. The bottom knife is mounted on a hardened,chromed and grounded expandable shaft. When air is supplied to the shaft, the bottom knives are firmly locked in place. The main feature of the bottom knife is the easy replacement of the cutting edge; in fact, thanks to its structural shape, it is possible to replace the ring without expandable shaft removal. This ring is produced in HSS S600 steel (Hight Speed Steel), with two cutting edges.

4. EXPANDO slitting system can be supplied in three versions: * MANUAL POSITIONING * MANUAL POSITIONING * MANUAL POSITIONING WITH DIGITAL DISPLAY A digital display sliding on a linear rail (manually operated)parallel to bottom knives shaft, allows to measure, with a mechanical system the absolute and relative quotes for each unit. In this way the slitting units can be displaced easly and quickly in the required position. *AUTOMATIC POSITIONING EXPANDO slitting system can be supplied complete with electro-pneumatic panels for shaft’s motor drive and manage all pneumatic functions. EXPANDO motorized slitting system is suitable for medium/high speed and allows to have a minimum strip.

5.
