2 Fine Arts Program rated Recognized In addition to our regular Fine Arts Program, students participate and perform for parents during our Fall and Spring Carnivals as well as any parent activities on campus. Here students take a fun break from rehearsal for such programs. Palm Grove Elementary

3 Wellness and Physical Education Programs rated Recognized In addition to our physical education program and on site nurse, students attend various presentations on health throughout the year. Here the Lymphoma Leukemia Society presented to our students acknowledging their contribution to “Pennies for Cancer”. Palm Grove Elementary

4 Community and Parental Involvement rated Recognized Parent presentations were academic focused: how parents can help their children learn. Parent Literacy Night was a success based on participation. Community service projects such as Pennies for Lymphoma/Leukemia are part of our culture. A society member expressed gratitude and the importance of caring to our students. Palm Grove Elementary

5 21 st Century Workforce Development rated Acceptable Students at Palm Grove Elementary are encouraged to attain a post high school education. This is promoted through: *All teaching is done with skills to use as a lifelong learner. *Counselor’s host Career’s on Wheel’s and a second career day showcasing various career opportunities for our students.! *Everyone is encouraged to wear a college jersey or tee on Thursday. 6 Dropout Prevention Strategies rated Exemplary Students performed various plays during our 1 st Annual Literacy Night. Parents learned strategies to assist their children to succeed in learning as well as various other activities to support classroom activities. Here, students performed several plays. The “Ugly Duckling was performed to make parents aware of some of the effects of bullying. Palm Grove Elementary

7 Second Language Acquisition Program Recognized Students were provided with cultural awareness experiences. Here, students participate in the Charro Days festivities representing Aguas Calientes. Further, each grade level selected a country and presented dances from that country. Here 3 rd grade Flamenco dancers perform during the Spring Carnival. Palm Grove Elementary

8 Digital Learning Environment rated Recognized *Digital communication is encouraged with our parents through: the school website, BISD website, Project Share, eSchool Plus, and emails. Teachers receive continuing professional development to stay abreast of current trends. Counselor’s conduct cyber- bullying classes to make parents, teachers and students conscious of how they can be “good” digital citizens. Palm Grove Elementary

9 Gifted and Talented Program rated Recognized Gifted and Talented students participated in UIL, Chess, Red Hot Ballroom, the Spring and Fall Festivals as well as various projects throughout the year. Students performed in the Christmas Program for students and parents. Palm Grove Elementary
