7 Advanced Placement (AP) Classes  Earn college credit with certain AP exam scores (depends on university)  Experience college rigor  Get challenged, learn how to study and manage your time  Shorten the amount of time to earn a degree  1 Extra Quality Point added to Cumulative GPA,.5 for HOPE  Needed for selective university admission  Middle 50% of UGA freshman have taken 4-8  Middle 50 % of GT freshman have taken 6-11  How do I get in? 11 UNG – Cumming ACCEL Program Information  Open to Juniors or Seniors  High School Required Core GPA of 3.25  480 Critical Reading and 440 Math on the SAT with at least a combined 970, OR 20 English and 18 Mathematics on the ACT with composite score of at least 20  Accel will pay the standard tuition rate for bachelor's degree courses at UNG.  UNG waives all mandatory fees for Accel students. That is a huge savings over what other UNG students pay.  You will pay for your books which amounts to about $100- $150 per course.  You will pay any course-specific fees, such as lab fees.  Preferred Deadline May 1 st and Final Deadline is July 1 st.

12 UNG – Cumming MOWR Admissions Information  Open to Juniors or Seniors  Have a 530 Critical Reading and 530 Math on the SAT, OR Have a 23 English and 22 Math on the ACT,  Required Core GPA of 3.5  MOWR will pay for up to a maximum of 4 courses and 15 credit hours per semester. If you take more than 4 courses, you'll pay for the extra course/s.  UNG waives all mandatory fees for MOWR students. That is a huge savings over what other UNG students pay.  You will pay for your books which amounts to about $100-$150 per course.  You will pay any course-specific fees, such as lab fees.  If you wish to live in a residence hall on the Dahlonega campus, you will pay room and meals.

13 Lanier Tech Dual Enrollment Information  Opportunity to earn CTAE course credit and Technical Certificate  Opportunity to graduate from high school with employable skill and certification  The high schools provide books for Dual Enrollment Students in CTAE Classes  No mandatory fees to High School Dual Enrollment students with the exception of students enrolled in programs requiring a malpractice insurance fee of $9.52  Students do NOT need the SAT or ACT but must take the Compass  Check out this student testimonialstudent testimonial

19 College Admissions Testing  PSAT – October 2015 (Redesigned)  10 th grade – all students take it for free  11 th grade – must register and is the National Merit Scholarship Competition Qualifier  Great practice and get valuable score report that offers remediation support  SAT/ACT – Spring of the Junior year  SAT is changing March 2016  Resources on the Counseling Website

35 HOPE Grant  High School GPA and/or test scores are not considered  Must be enrolled in a certificate or diploma program  Pays a portion of a schools standard tuition  Students enrolled in an approved program may receive the SIWDG  Strategic Industries Work Force Development Grant  Examples: Commercial Truck Driving, PC and Network Repair Tech, Heavy Diesel Service Technician, Welding, Pharmacy Assistant, among many others
