THROUGH THE EYES OF MARY
JOH 20:1-18

JOH 20:1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.

JOH 20:12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.

JOH 20:14 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.

A PROMISE CONFIRMED JOH 20:1-10 .

JOH 2:19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."

JOH 2:20 The Jews replied, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?"

But the temple he had spoken of was his body.
JOH 2:21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body.

JOH 2:22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

JOH 20:1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.

JOH 20:2 So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!" .

So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb.
JOH 20:3 So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb.

JOH 20:4 Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.

JOH 20:5 He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in.

JOH 20:6 Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there,

JOH 20:7 as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus' head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen.

JOH 20:8 Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.

JOH 20:9 (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)

Then the disciples went back to their homes,
JOH 20:10 Then the disciples went back to their homes,

LUK 24:21a but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel

2 COR 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.

A PAYMENT COMPLETED JOH 20:11-13

JOH 20:11 but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb

JOH 20:12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.

JOH 20:13 They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?" "They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him."

HEB 10:11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.

HEB 10:12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.

1 JOH 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

A PERSONALIZED CALL JOH 20:14-18

JOH 20:14 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.

JOH 20:15 "Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?" Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."

JOH 20:16 Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).

JOH 10:3 The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

JOH 20:17 Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"

JOH 20:18 Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: "I have seen the Lord!" And she told them that he had said these things to her.

THROUGH THE EYES OF MARY
JESUS KEPT HIS PROMISE TO RISE FROM THE GRAVE SO THAT HE CAN SAVE ME WHEN I RESPOND TO HIS CALL

QUOTE It’s one thing to “believe that” Jesus rose from the dead and is who He said He was, but it’s another to “believe in” Him as Savior. Every one of us, at some point in our investigation of the claims of Christianity, has to move from “belief that” to “belief in.” Wallace, J. Warner, Alive: A Cold-Case Approach to the Resurrection (Kindle Locations ).

HEB 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

HEB 12:4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.

HEB 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

HEB 12:3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

MAT 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

MAT 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
