Be aware of (sometimes significant) changes in usage statistics when switching from vendor-specific statistics Know that even COUNTER is not perfect eg session timeouts vary by vendor Understand the impact on usage statistics of “new” technologies eg RSS/Alerts, metasearch, mashups
