2 The Transition Project
Delia Geary appointed as Project Manager for the transition project Purpose: To manage and progress the transition of all CPA accredited laboratories to UKAS accreditation for ISO 15189:2012 Process is not cast in tablets of stone – things may change – process has to be dynamic and be able to move if we find something could be improved upon My role is to manage the transition and to pull the various fronds of the project together. It is also to meet expectations with regards to deadlines So how best to establish confidence in the approach…

3 Pilot purpose What don’t we know?
To determine whether the transition project structure is appropriate Assist in establishing the most effective mechanism to progress the transfer Post pilot review May be things that come up at the pilot that we hadn’t taken into account that we need to include in the project plan – for example the range of activities and the sampling involved in the assessment

4 Assessment UKAS contract review process – application forms and UKAS Agreement Assessment team determine extent of conformity with ISO 15189:2012 and CPA Standards Possibly a review of the presentations previously to some extent but recap of what will be done wrg to the pilot (site and off site)

5 Assessment Findings (i.e. non conformities/non compliances) – if any are found they are raised against ISO and CPA Standards Recommendation at end of visit on both ISO and CPA accreditation Maintenance of CPA accreditation will be needed during the transition phase and until is granted therefore we will also need to assess conformity with CPA standards in the usual manner Any findings raised to will need to be closed out within three months
