4  An index is an archive of online journals or articles.  Allows you to search through abstracts, authors or titles to find an article that suits your needs.  UOIT students allowed to use UOIT’s index subscriptions 3 Menu Prev

7  Library’s advanced search  Can search according to keywords, author, title, subject area, or periodical title. 6 Next Menu Prev

13  Selecting one will show you were you can obtain the encyclopedia or dictionary 12 Prev Menu

14  The major indexes will allow you search through their articles for ones that are of interest to you. 13 Click here Next Menu Prev

15  Choosing an index will take you to their search engine to find articles  Each index’s search is different. 14 Prev Menu Next

16  If you know both the article title AND journal title  Enter it into the search fields 15 Enter exact article title Enter journal title Click to Search Next Menu Prev

17  If multiple records are found, choose the one that you are looking for. 16 PrevNext Menu Click here

18  If the full text is available, click to get the full text:  Choose a location to download from. 17 PrevNext Menu

20  Note that different indexes have different methods of downloading the article.  You will have to browse a little to find the “download article” link for each index. 19 Prev Menu Next

21  Magazines/Journals/Newspapers are listed in alphabetical order.  Select an alphabet will allow you to browse through the subscriptions that UOIT has to offer. 20 Next Menu Prev
