1 Bell Work 1/7/15 1.Give an example of how H2O is found as a solid. 2.Give an example of how H2O is found as a liquid. 3.Give an example of how H2O is found as a gas. 4.List 5 ways H2O is stored on our planet. example: lakes (go ahead and use that one!) On your desk: 1.NEW I.N.!! 2.Pencil/Pen 3.PRIDE Cards

H2O Cycle The physical components (like water, carbon and nitrogen) of ecosystems are passed around and reused. –Recycling or cycling
8 Runoff Subsurface Runoff - rain, snow melt, or other water that flows in underground streams, drains, or sewers. Surface Runoff - rain, snow melt, or other water that flows in surface streams, rivers, or canals.
23 Transpiration The process in which some water within plants evaporates into the atmosphere. Water is first absorbed by the plant's roots, then later exits by evaporating through pores in the plant.
28 1. Fill in the blanks with the correct vocabulary term (some words may be used more than once). 2. Summarize the water Cycle on the Left side of your IN. ** Highlight The vocabulary words above! Evaporation Transpiration Sublimation Condensation Precipitation Infiltration Runoff Groundwater
1. What is the difference between evaporation, transpiration and sublimation? 29 Bell Work 1/8/15 On your desk: 1.NEW I.N.!! 2.Pencil/Pen 3.PRIDE Cards Evaporation- liquid water becomes a gas when it vaporizes from a body of water. Transpiration- Liquid H2O within plants evaporates into the atmosphere and becomes a gas. Sublimation- H2O moves from a solid to a gas, with no intermediate liquid stage.
