The Lord be with you. And also with you. Let us pray… Prayers of the People
19
Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we, your unworthy servants, give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made.
20
We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your inestimable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.
21
And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies, that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise,
22
not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up our selves to your service, and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
23

… The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Praise be to you, O Christ! Luke 1:26-38 Gospel Reading
34
What do you believe? I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. The Nicene Creed (381) Confession of Faith
35
And I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made;
36
who, for us and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
37
he suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father;
38
and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
39
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
40
And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
41
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. (Greet one another with the words, “The peace of Christ be with you.”) Colossians 3:15 Passing of the Peace

Institution of the Lord’s Table
43
Therefore let us proclaim the mystery of faith. Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again! Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast. The gifts of God for the people of God. (The Mystery of Faith) Mysterium Fidei

What child is this who laid to rest on Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet while shepherds watch are keeping? Text: English Carol Music: Greensleeves What Child Is This?
45
This, this is Christ the King whom shepherds guard and angels sing. Haste, haste to bring him laud the Babe, the Son of Mary.
46
Why lies he in such mean estate, where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christians, fear, for sinners here the silent Word is pleading.
47
Nails, spear shall pierce him through, the cross be borne for me, for you. Hail, hail the Word made flesh, the Babe, the Son of Mary.
48
So bring him incense, gold and myrrh, come peasant, king to own him; the King of kings salvation brings, let loving hearts enthrone him.
49

It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old, from angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold: Text: Edmund H. Sears Music: Richard S. Willis It Came Upon The Midnight Clear
51
“Peace on the earth, goodwill to men, from heaven’s all-gracious King.” The world in solemn stillness lay to hear the angels sing.
52
Still through the cloven skies they come, with peaceful wings unfurled, and still their heav’nly music floats o’er all the weary world.
53
Above its sad and lowly plains they bend on hov’ring wing, and ever o’er its Babel sounds the blessed angels sing.
54
And ye, beneath life’s crushing load, whose forms are bending low, who toil along the climbing way with painful steps and slow,
55
look now! for glad and golden hours come swiftly on the wing. O rest beside the weary road and hear the angels sing.
56
For lo, the days are hast’ning on, by prophet bards foretold, when with the ever-circling years comes round the age of gold,
57
when peace shall over all the earth its ancient splendors fling, and the whole world give back the song which now the angels sing. “It Came Upon The Midnight Clear” Text: Edmund H. Sears Music: Richard S. Willis Public Domain CCLI License #11109756
