2 “What are You afraid of?” “Yes” I know the question is grammatically incorrect, but that is how it is usually asked. We all have things of which we are afraid. Some are natural and normal, and some are abnormal and make no sense to others, despite being very real to the possessor.

3 “What are You afraid of?” Some seem to have no fear of anything, Others seem to be afraid of almost everything. Some, because of youth and lack of experience, don’t know enough to be afraid, And some despite maturity and experience, fear things of which they ought not to be afraid.

4 “What are You afraid of?” The New Testament tells us Not to Fear: 1. Those who can kill only the body, Luke 12:4 2. Death and Judgment, Heb.2:15; 1John 4:15 3. Rulers and Authority, Rom.13:1-7 4. Suffering for Right, 1Pet.4:11-19 But the New Testament also tells us To Fear: 1. The One who can kill the body & destroy the soul, Luke 12:5 2. Hell, Mark 9:42ff 3. Apostasy, Rom.11:20-24 4. Delusion, 2Thess.2:10

5 “What are You afraid of?” If none of this causes us to fear the things we should, then there is one final thing we had better be prepared to deal with: Our Eternal Company in Hell, Rev.20:14- 15; 21:8; 22:15 Since we’re all afraid of something, perhaps a better question is: Of what are you most afraid? Death or Damnation?
