1 Automated Trash Collection
City of North Olmsted

2 Cart Sizes 96 Gallon Cart 64 Gallon Cart
32 Gallon Cart (for light trash residents) 64 Gallon Cart for Recycling

3 Recycling Residents will be provided a 64 gallon cart for recycling
Recyclables may be co-mingled (i.e. aluminum, plastic, glass, paper, etc.) and will include cardboard, junk mail, magazines, and glossy inserts Increased recycling will substantially decrease residents’ weekly trash output and will lead to greater sustainability of the landfill

4 Recycling Switching to an automated collection system will increase City of North Olmsted curbside recycling by approximately 100 percent Annually, this increase will equate to over 2,000 tons of waste diverted from the City of North Olmsted waste stream

5 Yard Waste Yard waste will be collected from April 15th through November 30th on residents’ regular trash pickup days Yard waste should be placed in brown paper yard waste bags or cans next to the recycling cart Rather than going to the landfill, yard waste will now be composted, thus, eliminating it from the waste stream.

6 Large/Bulk Pickup Bulk pickup days will occur during one collection week of the month on the regular pickup day Bulk items include appliances, furniture or extra items that cannot fit into the trash cart.

7 RecycleBank As part of the program, residents will become part of the nationally acclaimed program RecycleBank Each time a household recycle cart is emptied, a household earns points. RecycleBank points may be redeemed for discounts at national, regional and local merchants Essentially, the more recycled, the more points earned.
