3. Effects At first, steroids make you big and strong. They make your muscle strength increase tens of hundreds of time bigger than they would normally be. But, the long term and even the short term side effects are very, very harmful. short term effects can be nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, insomnia, zits, and yellow eyes. Long term effects that can be felt for the rest of your life are tendons begin to tear, high blood pressure, and kidney troubles.
