I think I’ll take my clothes off And sit around in my skin. It’s hot! I’ve tried with ‘lectric fans, And pools and ice cream cones. I think I’ll take my skin off And sit around in my bones. It’s still hot!

7 In the Book Right There: A “detail” type of question, where words used to form the question and words that answer the question are often “right there” in the same sentence. Think & Search: The answer is in the text, but readers have to “think & search” to find the answer; sometimes within a paragraph, across paragraphs, or even chapters.

10 In My Head On My Own: The question relates to the text. Sometimes I can answer this one even if I had never read the text. Most of the ideas and information come from my background knowledge. Author and Me: The information to answer the question comes from my background knowledge, but to even make sense of the question, I’d need to have read and understood the text.

11 I Do Not Wish to Go to School “I do not wish to go to school,” insisted Sarah Sue, “and Mother, if you make me, I’ll eat a worm or two.” “Do you mean worms like these, my dear?” her mother firmly said. “I got them in the garden, they’re extremely long and red.” “They’re both the very juiciest and plumpest I could find.” “I’m off for school,” said Sarah Sue, “for I have changed my mind!”
