4. Problem Definition Present day ice cream scoopers still make it difficult to scoop hard ice cream, strain is put on the scoopers wrist and the scoop itself, which can lead to damage of the scoop or injury.

5. Concept List An ice cream scooper has an opposing scoop attachment and can be opened and closed by the press of a button. Design #1

6. Concept List Attach heating coils onto the leading edge of the scooper so that the scooper can cut through the ice cream with ease. Design #2

7. Concept List Adding an extended arm piece that attaches to the forearm. The ice cream scooper will offer more torque and force due to the leverage now available to the scooper. Design #3

9. The Final Product A simple strong aluminum ice cream scooper. Two AA batteries connected in series in the handle. A hold switch to turn On and Off the heat. Stripped copper wire around the leading edge of the scooper connected to the circuit. When the switch is pushed in, the circuit becomes complete and allows electricity from the batteries to flow. This creates heat at the bare wire on the scoopers leading edge, and thus allowing a smooth easy cut into the ice cream.

10. Conclusion Through the process of design, creativity and applying our knowledge, we are confident we have produced and efficiently designed a product that can help the people who live in today's complex society.
