EVANGELISM Preaching of the Gospel (GOOD NEWS) or the practice of relaying information about a particular set of beliefs to others with the object of conversion

What is the GOSPEL? Good news? In simplest terms, tell what the good news is. Is it defined in scripture?

What is the GOSPEL? Good news? In simplest terms, tell what the good news is. Is it defined in scripture? – Yes. 1 Cor. 15:1-4

HOW? PREACH – In church – On the street corners – Any public place – Via electronic media (Television, Radio, Internet)

HOW? WHY PREACH? Romans 10:14-15 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Are you ready to go preach? Right now? Do you have to do something first? How about study and preparation?

HOW? TEACH – In church – At home – Any convenient place – Via electronic media (Television, Radio, Internet)

HOW? WHY TEACH? Eph. 4:10-13 (CEV) 10 The one who went down is the same one who climbed up above all the heavens so that he might fill everything. 11 He gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. 12 His purpose was to equip God’s people for the work of serving and building up the body of Christ 13 until we all reach the unity of faith and knowledge of God’s Son. God’s goal is for us to become mature adults—to be fully grown, measured by the standard of the fullness of Christ. Are you ready to teach? Right now? Do you have to do something first? How about study and preparation?

HOW? SHARE – Who Christ is. – What HE did. (1 Cor. 15:1-4) – Why you choose to believe this. – How Christ has affected your life. – When do you expect to meet Him face to face?

HOW? SHARE WHAT? 1 Thess. 2:8 (CEV) – We were glad to share not only God’s good news with you but also our very lives because we cared for you so much.

Sharing your life. It means sometimes sacrificing – – Time – Energy – Resources It is something we all can do. And we can do it… right now.

PREACHING – TEACHING - SHARING They all have something in common. – They are all INTENTIONAL. – Evangelism, in any form, must be INTENTIONAL. When Jesus sent them out, He was INTENT on what they should do. They went forth with a will, to accomplish His intent. Matt. 28:18-20 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

SHARING & CARING  I believe this is likely the most powerful form of evangelism. Perhaps because it really takes the greatest effort, even though it is something that we all can do. Right now!  Just share our time, energy and resources to care about people and their lives, and in the process, live our lives before them in such a manner that they will want what we have.  That is: a joyful life. A life style that is attractive, and is a testimony to what God can do with a life that is surrendered to His Will.
