1 Cracow, Poland September 19-24, 2006 12th EAA ANNUAL MEETING EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF ARCHAEOLOGISTS

2 Cracow, a historic and spiritual capital of Poland, is easily accessible by air, train or car from every major city in Europe.

3 The Meeting will be held at the Academy of Physical Education in Cracow. It is set in a nice and spacious campus located about 4 km from the Main Market Square.

4 Cracow is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Its historical centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

5 The 13th-century merchants' town has Europe's largest market square and numerous historical palaces and churches with their magnificent interiors.

6 Wawel - the Medieval Royal Castle, once home to the Jagiellonian kings, has survived without major damage.

7 The Gothic Royal Cathedral - the site of the coronations and burials, overflows with priceless art treasures.

8 Jagiellonian University, established in 1364 is the oldest university in Poland and second (after Prague) to be founded in Central Europe.

13 TOUR II - Polish Carpathians: Zakopane-Niedzica-the Dunajec River Gorge (a trip down the river on rafts).
