1 19 Sept 2014 Bell Activity:Make sure your complete heading is on your bookmark and Add up the minutes and pages on your IRB Bookmark. Then take out this week’s spelling work and staple it together with the printed handout on top. DO NOT TURN ANYTHING INTO THE BASKET YET. TODAY’S AGENDA: IRB BKMARK DUE SPELLING CORRECTED SPELLING TEST CHARACTER MAP FOR “LETTER FROM THE FRINGE”

2 IRB BOOKMARKS DUE: Add up the pages and minutes that you have recorded on this week’s orange Bookmark. If you have a second bookmark because you read from more than one book, total both bookmarks separately. Then combine the minutes from both and write it at the top of the orange bookmark. Staple the orange bookmark on top of the other.

3 CLAIMS: Little Red Riding Hood is a kind girl who is too trusting. What does the Character say? (include 3-5 direct quotes) Character’s actions How do the other characters react (say about or do) to the character Physical Appearance PROVE YOUR CLAIMS USING EVIDENCE! “Mother you are so busy today. Why not let me take the basket to Grandma. I promise I will be Careful.” “I am going to give these goodies to my Grandmother who is ill” “Why Grandma, what big teeth you have!” Little Red Riding Hood Young girl Wears a red cloak with a hood Carries a basket of food She offers to take a basket of goodies to her grandma who is ill, even though it is a long, dangerous walk. She talks to the wolf and tells where she is going. Even though things look suspicious, she doesn’t leave the Cottage. Instead she continues to get closer to the wolf in order to see better and ask questions. Her mother warns her 3 times not to stop and talk to strangers The Wolf calls her a “foolish child” as she walks away. The Wolf announces his intention to eat her before he attacks.

4 In your groups: You have 2 minutes to decide on a phrase or adjective that describes Dana. You must also come up with 1 – 2 quotes that support your description. YOU MAY NOT USE THE ADJECTIVES: GOOD NICE BRAVE
