1 A New Scanning Electron Microscope Lakeview has just received a $77,000 grant to purchase a new Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM for short). SEM’s are used professionally to see objects on the scales that are used in nanotechnology

2 An SEM scans a beam of electrons across a sample to produce an image. Objects can be magnified from 10x - 300,000x. We will be able to see objects as small as three nanometers across A New Scanning Electron Microscope
