3 © British Telecommunications plc Objectives –The delivery of economic benefits, based on significant levels of ‘speed uplift’ (the amount of broadband speed increase from the current service) made possible by improved broadband infrastructure availability in large parts of Norfolk by implementing Next Generation Access broadband infrastructure –2Mbps speeds as a minimum, right across Norfolk, so that everyone who wants access to broadband can have it

4 © British Telecommunications plc Economic outcomes –1,337 additional jobs over 10 years (equivalent to 0.61% of Norfolk’s current private sector employment) –£88 million in additional annual GVA (Gross Value added) by 2021/22, equivalent to 0.64% of Norfolk’s current total GVA –Discounting at 3.5%, as per HM Treasury guidance, the present value of the net GVA impact is £401 million over a ten year appraisal period
