As you may have noticed, the writer jumps around from one idea to the next. This is almost like flipping a light on and off over and over again.
Let’s pretend the room is black. If I turned on the lamp in this corner, you would need to move to this corner to be able to read If I turned off this lamp and turned on a lamp in the other corner, I would need to move to the other corner to read.

Let’s see how many times I have to turn the light off and on when I read Day With Dad.
Every time I jump topics in the story, I will turn off the lamp in this corner and move to a different corner and turn on the lamp in the other corner. I will keep repeating this pattern until the end of the story.
