Men and women

Male and female is biological. We are first biologically female. You are born a female not a women. Boys are not men. Matt Chandler defines the role of a man as headship Headship – unique leadership of a man and the work of establishing order for human flourishing Genesis 2: 15 Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

The perfect Godly man is Jesus. He was selfless and did what was right for the people around him. He is the head of the church. He knew his responsibility and acted on it. The difference between a male and a man is a male wants to fulfill his fleshly desires. A biblical man desires God and his will.

18The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” 19Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 21So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 22Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

23The man said,“This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”24That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. 25Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

God said in Genesis 1 “it was good” 7 times. Light, livestock, creatures, man, day and night was good. In Genesis 2:18 was the first time that God said “not good”. Genesis 2: 18The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone.” God pulled Eve from Adam’s rib which shows intimacy and closeness. It was mentioned twice that Adam needed a suitable helper fit for him

Helper in Genesis 2 is Ezer (Hebrew) which is mostly used when God is helping is helping his people Psalm 33:20 We wait in hope for the Lord, he is our help and our shield.

2Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. 3Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children,

5to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. 6Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
