10 The Mission of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) “The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. 15 Featured Country: Nearly two-thirds of Haiti is made up of mountains. Tortuga, a small island off the northern coast of Haiti, was once a favorite hiding place for pirates. One of Haiti’s national symbols is the palm tree, which is thought to represent a tropical island paradise.

27 Fall Festival Donations Needed In October, Fernway School will celebrate the new year with our Fall Festival and Silent Auction, the year’s biggest fundraiser and favorite event. We are looking for parents to help with the Silent Auction by soliciting restaurants, stores and other local vendors to donate great items for our auction. All the money raised through this PTO sponsored event goes right back to the school to help fund many events and programs such as field trips, new reading software programs, gym equipment, etc.
