5. Agricultural Inputs (Fertilizers)

Detailed data on fertilizers are crucial to estimate:
Country potential productivity and its effect on food consumption and security
Greenhouse gas emission and agriculture contribution to climate change

Ver 1.1 harmonization with FCL was very low. Thanks to FAO contribution to CPC Ver.2 harmonization increased and now approximately 40% of FCL items are linked to CPC through a one-to-one correspondence.
The next EGM it will be discussed the opportunity to review CPC Ver.2
Our contribution will aim at boosting harmonization between these two schemes and at making sure CPC reflects the reality and meet the needs of statistics of food and agriculture

Species Taxonomic codes – env. 11,500 species items
ISSCAAP (Aquatic Animal and Plan) Group – 50 groups, 9 divisions
ISSCFC (Fishery Commodities) – env. 1,200 items:
-- linked with SITC, HS, and ISSCAAP
CPC Fishery related items: 15 primary and 32 processed commodities
Problem – as reference aggregation
No separation between aquaculture and capture fishery at primary product level
Separation of live fish and fresh or chilled is not practical
Imbalance in biological aggregation level

To consider substantial modification including structure:
Separation of Division 04 into two
