Why I Chose My Animal? I chose my animal because it lives in a place called Africa. Africa is a hot place so it can survive in the wild. 1. It can hide in it’s shell uncase it fells scared.

Appearance An Egyptian tortoise looks really cool. An Egyptian tortoise has a shell to protect it so it doesn’t get eaten. It also has green skin. It also has pupils to see really good. These are good things to know to survive in the wild. Without these characteristics it wouldn’t survive in the wild.

Habitat Do you know where in the world an Egyptian tortoise lives? An Egyptian tortoise lives in a place called Africa. An Egyptian tortoise female can only survive with a male. An Egyptian tortoise lives on land to survive. Without these places it most likely will not survive in the wild nor will its babies

Diet An Egyptian tortoise eats things to grow strong. An Egyptian tortoise east fruit, grass, and flowers. It also likes to eat leaves at the zoo so it can survive in the wild to live. Now you are learning what it eats to survive and to grow healthy.

Family An Egyptian tortoise’s family is quite interesting. An Egyptian tortoise only has about 1 to 5 babies at a time. It lives with the turtle family to survive in the wild. Egyptian tortoises only live to be 10-20 years old. Eggs are laid in shallow bowls dug under bushes. This is good news especially when it hides its eggs to protect it.

Predator/Prey/Adapt An Egyptian tortoise is an endangered animal. We can help to save Egyptian tortoises by making sure they are not eaten by different animals. It has a couple of predators because it is the second smallest tortoise in the whole family. Eagles and hawks eat them. People are illegally selling them to be house pets. This is good to know because they are getting to be extinct.

Insteresting Facts These are some interesting facts about my animal. The Egyptian tortoise has two other names. They are Klienmars and Leiths tortoise. If you wanted to know their size is four inches. An Egyptian tortoise is the second smallest tortoise in the whole wide world. This is good news because its small shell can protect it to survive. That’s how it lives and how its body is interesting.
