1. Ecosystem: (p. 14) A community of animals, plants, fungi, and bacteria that live in the local environment. 2. Environmental engineer: (p. 13) Someone who uses math, science, and creativity to help solve problems in the environment. 3. Food web: (p. 25) The relationships through which organisms get energy by eating other animals or plants. 4. Technology: (p. 14) Anything designed to solve a problem. 5. Engineering Design Process: (p ) A way of thinking that helps engineers to solve problems.

Questions Answers What do the birds eat? What do the deer eat? What were some of the differences between the pictures? How can we use the pictures to help explain some of the changes? Fish and insects Plants There were fewer birds in picture 2 but more fish and insects. If there are fewer birds to eat the fish and insects, the fish and insect population can grow.
