In the Father’s name, Jesus calls us to conversion earnestly and urgently. Trusting in the patience of the Father, we must respond with enthusiasm to the call of the Son. Conversion is knowing how much we are loved.

We hear his appeal today for conversion. May God give us an open ear and a sincere heart to listen.

God loves us with a love that desires only our good. Whenever He calls us to conversion, He invites us into a greater love so we we can love each other better.

The first reading leads us to the origin of Exodus. Everything starts in an apparent banality : a shepherd, a flock... The unexpected happened: Moses sees a « bush burning without being consumed. »

He meets God who knows the misery of his people, God whose name is "I-am." And in this encounter, an adventure begins that he should "celebrate the memorial" and whose memory we keep. Love in action is revealed. This love that we remember in every Eucharist, burning bush that is not consumed. Christ, by His Spirit, will radiate in us what he expects of us.

God of mercy and tenderness, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, we come to you with confidence. You know our unfaithfulness and inclination, but you also know the desire of our heart. We pray again, God of patience: bring us back to you and save us by your love, you who loves us forever and ever. Amen.

« Faith working through love becomes a new criterion of understanding and action that changes the whole of man’s life » ( Porta Fidei)
