Why Static GPS  It is the most reliable method  There are no orientation errors associated with TPS (total station)  You can do massive distances  It is fast  It is cheap

Baselines make up Static GPS networks. A little logic when performing these and combining 3 or more GPS receivers make for very tight control networks. These are single baselines used to check existing control. Baselines

Post processing 1.What we do is put up a GPS base and set it to log the satellites, when placing primary control we will use 2 bases to double “polar”. 2.Each point is occupied with a tripod for a length of time depending on the distance from the base, amount of satellites available, geometry of the satellites and cycle slips/obstructions. 3.Post processing is a science and many factors are monitored.

Ensuring accuracy  LGO (Leica Geo Office) is the best GPS processing package available on the market, we use it.  The Swiss have employed the worlds finest mathematicians and have refined the algorithms to give astounding results, even up to 300Km, we have tested it.

Reports Our reports are clear and concise They are in HTML or PDF You can have confidence at first sight

And in the end...  GPS is reliable, but you must use an experienced company  Forget the myths of yesteryear, GPS is the future  European countries now only maintain a few of their Main trig beacons  Ordnance Survey UK only recommend new control taken off their national GPS network.  South Africa also has a GPS network and these can also be used to reference your sites
