2 6.3 Million gallons of water This Wave Generator fills up and spills water into the tank every 2 minutes to produce oxygen in the aquarium. The salinity of the water is 33-35 ppt. The largest tank contains 6.3 million gallons of salt water.

3 The ceiling is equipped with windows and lights to allow in radiation and ultraviolet light. This produces photosynthes is and phytoplankto n for the coral reef and its inhabitants. 30-40% is live corals in 77˚F water.

7 The Japanese Spider-Crab This crab grows to be 12ft 6in long and weigh 41lbs, making it have the largest leg span of any arthropod. This crab can live up to 100yrs old.

11 The Red Lion fish is a venomous coral reef fish that feeds on krill and Mysis. If provoked, the Lion fish uses its poisonous spines as a weapon of defense. Attacks on human are not fatal but extremely painful.

12 The Piranha is a fresh water fish, found in large numbers in the Amazon river. When hunting, Piranhas travels in group and ambush their prey, using their sharp teeth to rip prey into pieces in a matter of seconds.

13 River Otters are part of the weasel family. They can grow to be 3-4 ft long and weigh up to 30 lbs. They consume shellfish, turtles, fish, and amphibians.

15 This Giant Grouper weighs over 300 pounds. They are known to grow up to 9ft long and weigh up to 1320 pounds. Usually found in fairly shallow water near corals reefs.

17 Georgia Aquarium used UPS to transport large animals. In 2005 UPS transported 2 young males whale shark and in 2006 2 young females from Taiwan. Both journeys took over 36hrs.
