Graduation Requirements 22 credits including MSDE required courses High School Assessment (HSA) Student Service Learning Hours (SSL) completed by Friday, May 4 th * Please contact your child’s counselor for questions about his/her status

Senior Exam Schedule Thursday, May 17 th – Exam Review Day Monday, May 21 st – exam 6/7 Tuesday, May 22 nd – exam 4/5 Wednesday, May 23 rd – exam 2/3 Thursday, May 24 th – exam 1 & make- up Friday, May 25 th – make-ups

Senior Fees/Obligations Both must be cleared in order to participate in the following: Senior Banquet * April 18 th Prom * May 18 th Graduation * June 8 th

Senior Banquet This is a voluntary event on Wednesday, April 18 th Lakewood Country Club @ 7:00 p.m. Transportation on your own Cost is $30 Tickets sold last week. –Few tickets remain. Please check w/Ms. Contino. –Tickets will NOT be sold at door.

Graduation Rehearsal Wednesday, June 6 th at 7:00 a.m. in the RM Auditorium All graduates are required to attend rehearsal in order to be able to walk during the ceremony. Tickets will be distributed at the end of rehearsal. Students must be on time for rehearsal and stay until the end to receive their cap and gown

Senior Picnic Immediately follows Graduation Rehearsal on Wednesday, June 6 th Cost of the picnic $15 Smokey Glen located in Gaithersburg following graduation rehearsal Students must provide their own transportation there and home Tickets will go on sale after Spring Break

Graduation Ticket Information Each senior will be allotted 5 tickets. Extra tickets will be considered on a first come first serve basis as requested. Tickets are very limited. The original window to request extra tickets ended December 23, 2011. Every effort will be made to honor requests. Requests greater than 2-3 extra tickets are NOT likely to be honored. Notification of honored ticket requests will be done the week of May 29 – June 1

Graduation Transportation/Parking Bus option –Cost $25 –Ticket sales will begin after Spring Break Parking is very limited Metro is an option

Graduation Ceremony Friday, June 8 th at 10:00 a.m. DAR Constitution Hall Graduates must arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. All graduates should be dressed in appropriate attire when they arrive

Ceremony Accommodations Handicap seating must be requested in advance. The individual in need of assistance and 1 other person will receive priority seating. This seat is considered one of the five issued tickets. Requests for interpreters must be made in advance

Graduate Attire Avoid high heels as the floors are slippery Boys need to wear long dress pants See the handout provided for additional details No messages on caps

Ceremony Courtesy This is an exciting moment for all families and friends. Please refrain from loud celebrations while student names are being announced to respect the student who follows your child. Loud noisemakers are prohibited in DAR. Refer to Graduation Day Expectations Handout

Diplomas After the graduation ceremony students must proceed to their assigned hallways to receive their diplomas from their guidance counselor. If there are issues with the diplomas please contact the school afterwards. Correct spelling of names need to be submitted well before June.
