1 FEBRUARY 17, 2015 SENIOR PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT

2 OBJECTIVES To provide information regarding ORHS spring events and expectations related to the Graduating class of To provide information regarding the opportunities available for parents to support the ORHS spring events.

4 Most Scholarships are due in February & March There is still time!

5 Reminder Cal Grant and FAFSA deadline is March 2nd

6 SENIOR NOTIFICATION Purpose: Encourage a strong finish and provide accountability in the areas of Academics, Attendance, Behavior, Fines/Fees. Timeline: Distributed in English classes on Feb. 25 th /26 th. Due in Office of the Assistant Principals by Friday, March 7 th.

7 SENIOR ACTIVITIES (JOIN THE FUN, WE NEED YOUR HELP!) Prom (May 9, 2015) Location: CSUS Ballroom Be mindful of dress code.

8 SENIOR ACTIVITIES (JOIN THE FUN, WE NEED YOUR HELP!) Senior Dinner Dance (5/15/15) 6:30 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. – ORHS cafeteria Attire: Dressy casual. “Senior Goodbyes” will be recorded.

10 FINAL EXAMS/CHECKOUT Thursday, May 28, 2015 Final Exams Check-out = 12:30 p.m.-2:30 ORHS Cafeteria All fines/fees must be paid. Final Transcripts. Grad Night. Graduation Cords. Note: Middle School Promotion Ceremonies are this day.

12 MANDATORY GRADUATION PRACTICE Following Senior Breakfast: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 ORHS Stadium Seats will be selected at practice.

13 THE GRADUATION CEREMONY MAY 29, :00PM, ORHS STADIUM Participation in the graduation ceremony is considered a privilege; participation is not a right. The Oak Ridge High School Graduation Ceremony is a community celebration of the accomplishments of the class of The ceremony is a dignified ceremony, not a party. We appreciate parental and community support. Please do not encourage or assist with disruptive behavior.

14 THE CEREMONY (CONTINUED) Photography Professional photographers on site in two quad areas after the ceremony for group/family photos. Prints may be ordered online. Photos will also be taken as Senior receives their diploma No tickets are required All gates to the stadium will open for admission at 5:45pm. Seating (Very limited, please don’t save seats.) Special / Assisted Seating for Physically Challenged Family Members: Information will be available at a later date, via a Blackboard communication. (There will be a maximum of 4 seats per family for Assisted seating)

15 THE CEREMONY (CONTINUED) Dress Code for Graduates: Graduates report to designated area with CAP and GOWN in hand, no special adornments, no cell phones, no food, no beverages, no handbags. Speaking / Musical Performance(s): Seniors interested in performing at graduation must register in the Office of the Assistant Principals. Auditions will be held on 3/18, 3/20 and 3/21 at lunch in room PA- 3. Program: One souvenir copy provided during checkout, after the ceremony. Additional copies will be available online.

16 THE CEREMONY (CONTINUED) Develop a plan for reunification with graduate following ceremony (parents/students to determine). Plan for Rain: If we have a downpour or are concerned for safety, we will move the ceremony to the Gymnasium(2 tickets per family).
