MARCH 2014 DEADLINES FOR REGISTRATION 6 registration dates: 1st of Januarysubmit thesis: 1st of June 1st of Marchsubmit thesis: 1st of August 1st of Aprilsubmit thesis: 1st of September 1st of Junesubmit thesis: 1st of November 1st of Augustsubmit thesis: 1st of January 1st of Octobersubmit thesis: 1st of March After registration: 5 months to write your thesis After submission of your thesis: 1 month for evaluation and oral defence Three attempts at passing the thesis: Modified thesis synopsis and a new deadline of three months 3

MARCH 2014 ALLOCATION OF ACADEMIC SUPERVISOR ›Prepare a proposal for a thesis synopsis (1/2 page) - tentative title - tentative problem statement - tentative research approach (methods/theory) - tentative description of data basis, if relevant ›Fill in ”Form for allocation of academic supervisor” ›Submit proposal and form to the department secretaries - Deadline is 1 month before the registration deadline - Note: Deadline is June 15th if you plan to register 1st of August ›Your programme coordinator will then allocate a supervisor - You are free to make a request for a specific supervisor 5

MARCH 2014 THESIS REGISTRATION (= EXAM REGISTRATION) ›Prepare the thesis synopsis - tentative title - tentative problem statement - tentative research approach approx. 1 page - tentative description of data basis, if relevant - tentative outline - tentative list of litterature ›Prepare a plan for the thesis process (goals for each month) ›Fill in ”Thesis registration”. It must be signed by you and your supervisor. ›Submit thesis registration form with thesis synopsis and plan to the department secretaries before the registration deadline. 6

MARCH 2014 THESES PREPARED IN GROUPS, SCOPE OF THE THESIS AND ORAL DEFENCE: ›The thesis may be prepared in groups of max. 3 students ›Scope: - 1 student: standard pages (2.200 characters, no spaces) - 2 students: standard pages - 3 students: standard pages ›Scope: Excl. table of contents, literature list, abstract and appendices, but incl. notes. ›Length of the abstract: Max. 2 standard pages. ›Individual oral exam: 45 min. 7

MARCH 2014 THESIS ONLINE – HOW TO SUBMIT: ›Register and upload your thesis at ›Print the receipt for your upload/registration (= proof that you have uploaded/registered) Any questions: contact the Library ›Submit at BSS Study Service, Tåsingegade 3, building 1443, room 021 › A copy of the mail receipt from › 2 printed copies of your thesis › 3 completed copies of the form 'Submission of master's thesis' 8
