RESTRICTIONS ON TISHA B'AV Upon sundown, the laws of Tisha B'Av commence – consisting of the following expressions of mourning: 1. No eating or drinking until nightfall the following evening. A. Pregnant and nursing women are also required to fast. If one suspects it could be harmful to the baby or mother, a rabbi should be consulted. B. A woman within 30 days after birth need not fast. C. Others who are old, weak, or ill should consult with a rabbi. D. Medicine may be taken on Tisha B'Av, preferably without water. E. In case of great discomfort, the mouth may be rinsed with water. Great care should be taken not to swallow anything. 2. Other prohibitions include: A. Any bathing or washing, except for removing specific dirt – e.g. gook in the eyes. (Upon rising in the morning, before prayers, or after using the bathroom, one washes only the fingers) B. Anointing oneself for pleasure. (Deodorant is permitted.) C. Having marital relations. D. Wearing leather shoes. (Leather belts may be worn.)

E. Learning Torah, since this is a joyful activity. It is permitted to learn texts relevant to Tisha B'Av and mourning – e.g. the Book of Lamentations, Book of Job, In-depth study should be avoided. 3. Other mourning practices include: A. Sitting no higher than a foot off the ground. After midday, one may sit on a chair. B. Not engaging in business or other distracting labors, unless it will result in a substantial loss. C. Refraining from greeting others or offering gifts. 4. Avoiding idle chatter or leisure activities. 5. Following Tisha B'Av, all normal activities may be resumed, except for the following which are delayed until midday of the 10th of Av, because the burning of the Temple continued through the 10th of Av: A. Haircuts and washing clothes. (When Tisha B'Av falls out on Thursday, these are permitted immediately following Tisha B'Av, in honor of the coming Shabbat.) B. Bathing. (When Tisha B'Av falls out on Thursday, bathing is permitted on Friday morning.) C. Eating meat and wine. D. Music and swimming.

Kosher Wine – March 2007 Jewish law also bans letting the wine be touched, and sometimes even seen, by a non-Jew or even by a non-observant Jew, from the moment of pressing the grapes to the bottling. To make sure this law is observed, kosher wineries employ only haredim. This law also forces the wineries to have every visitor accompanied by a kashrut supervisor, to make sure nothing is touched. "It can be embarrassing sometimes, but there is no other choice since you cannot be sure how religious a person is and you certainly cannot ask him," said Tvzika Shor, the vintner at Zion Wineries in Mishor Adumim near Jerusalem, which produces glatt kosher table-wine under the supervision of the Badatz Eda Haredit.

Likewise, all substances used in the process, such as yeast, sulfate, sulfur dioxide or tartar, most of which are made in European factories and supervised by the relevant kashrut institutions, have to be kosher. Wineries like Carmel that produce the substances themselves can reduce their costs. There is a popular rumor that all kosher wine has to be boiled and therefore does not taste as good as non-kosher wine. "Many kosher wineries do not boil wine that is not for export," said Ganz. Jewish law stipulates that kosher wine can become non-kosher Nesech wine if it is opened and poured into glasses by a non-Jew or a non-observant-Jew, unless it has been previously boiled, he said. Nesech wine was used by pagans in religious rituals and was forbidden to Jews in the days of the Sanhedrin.

Islam Koran 4: – “…and for their saying, 'We killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger (and Prophet) of Allah.' They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but to them, he (the crucified) had been given the look (of Prophet Jesus). Those who differ concerning him (Prophet Jesus) are surely in doubt regarding him, they have no knowledge of him, except the following of supposition, and (it is) a certainty they did not kill him. Rather, Allah raised him up to Him. Allah is Almighty, the Wise.”

9: 30 - “the Christians say that the Messiah is the son of God. Such are their assertions, by which they imitate the infidels of old. God confound them! How perverse they are!” 19: – “Those who say: ‘The Lord of Mercy has begotten a son,’ preach a monstrous falsehood, at which the very heavens might crack, the earth break asunder, and the mountains crumble to dust. That they should ascribe a son to the Merciful, when it does not become the Lord of Mercy to beget one!” Islam

“All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose. In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshiped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize his or her divine destiny as an heir of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.” The Family: A Proclamation to the World - President Gordon B. Hinckley, September 23, LDS Church

God's Will for you is perfect happiness because there is no sin, and suffering is causeless. Joy is just, and pain is but the sign you have misunderstood yourself.
