2. A process paragraph explains how to do something, create something, or understand something.
For example,
how to build a model plane,
how to write an essay.

3. Preparing a Process Paragraph
List the steps in your process from beginning to end.
Make sure that:
ll steps are included
they are in logical order
each step is clear
the last step shows the finished product

4. Making a Cake: A Process Example
Here’s a sample list for How to Bake a Cake:
assemble ingredients
mix the batter
bake the cake
make frosting
remove cake from oven
frost the cake after cooling
eat and enjoy!

5. TIME-ORDER TRANSITION SIGNALS
A. DEFINITION - a word or phrase that shows how one idea is related to another idea.
B. PLACEMENT - Time-order transitions are usually placed at the beginning of a sentence followed by a comma. (Then is NOT followed by a comma.
C. EXAMPLES
First, ... In the morning, ...
First of all, ... In the afternoon, ...
Second, ... In the evening, ...
Third, ... At night, ... Next, ... After that, ... Then, Finally, ...
