WELCOME TO THE 10th SCHOOL ON ACOUSTO-OPTICS AND APPLICATIONS It is a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 10th School on Acousto-optics and Applications in Sopot, Poland, from 12th to 15th of May 2008. CONFERENCE VENUE The School will be held at Imperial Hotel in Sopot. With its clean, sandy beaches and Art Nouveau architecture, Sopot is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Poland. The Hotel is situated in the vicinity of the beach next to the promenade, between the fishing harbour and the famous Sopot Pier. You will enjoy unique micro-climate of the spa resort. As the town offers a wide range of entertainment, you will also find there a lot of interesting things and places to see. The Conference Place can be easily reached by any means of transportation (Railway station, Airport etc.). SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM The technical program will consist of invited papers, contributed papers, poster session, round table discussion and exhibition from industries. The School will cover all physical aspects of light and sound interaction in liquids and solids, including applications of acousto- optic devices in light deflection or modulation, signal processing, ultrasonic imaging, light diffraction, tomography etc. Conference proceedings will be published in a journal. The Conference language will be English. SOCIAL EVENTS AND TECHNICAL VISITS Banquet in the Conference Hall and barbecue in the surrounding pine woods will be arranged (free of additional charge). Programs for technical visits will be also organized. CONFERENCE FEE The participation fee is 250 (including full board and lodging) and 200 for the accompanied person (before January 31, 2008).
