3  2003 – Youth Initiative launched the ‘European Values for the future of the SEE’  Main Goal - Overcoming the current conflicts and prejudices from the past, creating a new vision for cooperation, breaking the barriers, represents a base for successful support of it  This Conference became one of the most important Youth Events in the country and is now held traditionally for the 9 th time in Krusevo  It helped build a lot of partnerships between the organizations that participated in the Conference (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Germany, Kosovo under UNSC 1244/1999, Monte Negro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey) What happened the previous years? 3

4  2009 – Meeting of Culture  Project objective was European integration of SEE region and active participation of young people in speeding up this integration process  2010 – Meeting of Culture – Meeting of Values  Project objective was identifying a common approach for achieving our goals, common values in spite of cultural differences  2011 – Contact for the Common Future (Part 1 and 2)  Project Objective was to establish cooperation between youth NGOs from FYR Macedonia and Greece, create new future projects, starting new initiatives for working on IPA applications (CBC programe, Youth in action programe etc.), build new partnerships and to create atmosphere of common understanding and start the breakage of stereotypes between people representing each country, different cultures, working styles, etc.  2011 – Diversity our Values (upcoming shortly after the Conference) Following projects to the Conference 4

5 Active young people who:  seek to strengthen their generic leadership skills and gain meaningful international experiences  demonstrate have a willingness to participate in the processes of decision making at regional level, with previous experience in youth NGO actually in creation of youth policy commitment to academic excellence, professional development and community involvement in a spirit of responsible and sustainable leadership Target Group Age 18 – 30 NGO Activists Ambitious 5

8  To bring together socially active youth leaders in order to critically and self-critically review the policies implemented in SEE  To share and discus experiences about problems that concern youth in everyday life and are a serious obstacle towards EU  To establish a higher level of dialogue between socially active youth leaders and NGO’s on one side and decision-makers on a national, regional and European level on the other  To raise awareness among youth about the needs and, moreover, the gains from regional cooperation for Euro-integration  To explore and propose particular youth actions to both the decision-makers and the NGO’s in the region instead of placing declaration statements  To promote conferences’ official document - the “Youth appeal for action” to European institutions, regional governments, political parties, Diplomacy representative offices, relevant and respected individuals in the society and decision-making institutions. 11 Code Of Conduct  You have to be present during the entire conference program!  Please note your presence at every working session on our check lists!  You have to be on time!  Wearing your badge on the working sessions is obligatory!  Dress code – be comfortable, but keep in mind that you are on International Youth Conference. Modest dress code is expected!  The hotel bar will close at 23:00h (11:00 p.m.)!  No alcohol before 21:00h (09:00 p.m.)!  No use of drugs!  No kissing This rule is prevention from broken hearts, children, alimony and travel costs! 11

12 Some useful information…  The bars in the city work until 1:00!  The exchange rate is 61.4MKD/1EUR.  The approximate price from the hotel to the city is 50MKD.  You have to pay for everything you eat or drink that is outside the agenda!  The team is at your disposal at all time for whatever you need!  Participants presentation questionnaires – fill the questionnaires by tomorrow morning and give them to the facilitator on the first session. 12
