1 Our Aims & Objectives

2 Who is Widening Participation CIC? Widening Participation CIC is a Community Interest Company based in Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom. Our Organisation is laid on Ethical Values. Our core objective is to work with projects which are going to generate a positive result and tangible benefits to local, national and international communities. Our beneficiaries are, young people from deprived areas and disadvantaged communities and also Ethnic Minorities. Our expertise is a result of a strong project development, management skills, from initiating the idea to design, delivery, implementation and evaluation of community based projects.

3 The best part of our activities will be around students, families and young people with particular emphasis on Black, Asian and Ethnic Minorities. We also work to protect and preserve the cultural heritage among the BAME (including gypsies, roma and travellers), for comunities to better integrate and work together. Widening Participation CIC will aim to promote social and welfare activites to increase the integration of all commuinities and better understanding of the different languages, customs and cultures.

4 Languages: Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguése, Greek, Indian, Albanian and much more. The aim of language training is to provide communities of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to better communicate with each other, reducing diversity and creating a durable network between all course participants. Cookery courses: Italian, India and international cuisine. This is aimed to bring communities together to learn appreciate different food and cultures, through tasting and exchanging recipes of traditional dishes.

5 Our Activities: Developping On-Line Learning technologies: Facilitating Faculties and Students Exchange programs: Working with young people and schools to promote and celebrate cultural diversities: Environment & sustainability: Learning of Foreign Languages: Social initiatives, Social Enterprise y Micro-Finance: Motivate people to build confidence & respet and to integrate in the society those people afected by hate crime.

6 Who are we? Antonio Sardu Qualified language Teacher in 1971 University of Cagliari with expertise in Montessori Methodology, African Culture, Wilst a student Antonio provided his volunteering services to several charities and won an award for Fund-Raising for people suffering from leprosy in African countries. In 1991 University of Plymouth – NHD Btec in Computer studies TEFL & modern languageTeacher Coordinador of activities & Training courses for Foreign students Marketing, Sales & Business Development Project Coordinator. Antonio is currently Managing Director of Widening Participation CIC, Widening Participation Albania & Europe for Diversity and Culture, in Crete.

7 Sunder Braganza: Project Director MA in Labour Management, Diploma in social work with children and families level 4 (Stonebridge college UK) Certificate in Community Development, Mentoring and trainer skills (UK). He has worked with large international organisations like Rotary international and local clubs in USA and India on health, hygiene and education. Sunder has been awarded "Volunteer of the year" award from the Lord Mayor of Plymouth city.

8 Eglantina Kumaraku Native of Albania & now resident in Chania, Crete, qualified as a kindergarten teacher in 1996, and after as a Primary Teacher in 1999. Eglantina acquired knowledge of the diferent cultures and the necessity to preserve the mother language and heritage of the Albanian immigrants in Crete/Greece. Has designed classes of Albanian languages, History and Cultura for the children of Albanian immigrants. Eglantina is founder & President of “Europa for Diversity and Culture”, NGO in crete & a Director of Widening Participation CIC in UK & also Executive Director of Widening Participation Albania.

9 Jolanta Pociute Profesional of lituanian origin BA in religious Studies (Vytautas Magnus University of Kaunas) & Professional pedagogy, (University of Klaipeda) Has worked as Journalist and administration in public relations & Ethic teacher in Vėtrungė gimnasium in Klaipeda, Teacher of visual advertising production & organizer of students’ and staff mobility projects and programs at Klaipėda Service and Business School, Lithuania. Now Graphic Designer & Marketing Director for Italy, Lithuania & Russia

10 Mr Jayaprakash Jala MA, MPhil, PDGTSE, (Phd) Académic educator. Well established trainer and consultant in higher education. Responsible for the operacions of the International Consortium of the Centre of Innovation in the académic World (ICCIA). Responsible for the World Magazine and Book Bank, which are the central organs of Widening Participation CIC (United Kingdom) Experienced Training Manager & Coordinator of the Division of Continuing Engineering Education (CEED) _ Academic Staff College of India VIT University. Leading educational project to teach teachers to be councilors of the groups of students and their families to create better employment opportunities and integration into society and the work environment.
