3 CLASSIFICATIONS Classification by COICOP: The central Statistical office has recently started compiling households final consumption expenditures by purpose according to the guide lines set by the ICP. The consumption patterns of the households were as follows: = Food and non-alcoholic beverages = Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics = Clothing and food wear

4 = Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel = Furnishings, household equipments and maintenance = Health = Transport = communication = Recreation and culture = Education = Restaurants and Hotels = Miscellaneous goods and services.

5 The weights for the COICOP were derived from the the household income expenditure survey(HIES) ISIC: The Ministry of trade and Industry is under way to implement the data base for the trade licenses in line with ISIC. The sample of ISIC codes assigned are as given below: Logging Utensil shop Mining of marble Hardware 52342

6 Bakery Cobbler Sawmill Electronic repair Watch repair Barshop Auto workshop Tyres and tubes Grocery shop Medical 52311

7 Exports and Imports section I They are presented under sections and chapters. Section I. : Live animals and animal product. It covers chapters from 01 to Live animal cows and oxen goat cocks and hens other live animals 02 meat and meat preparation beef, fresh or chilled pork,fresh or chilled meat of goats chickens fresh or chilled 03 Fish and fish preparation live fish fish fresh or chilled 04. Dairy products and eggs milk fresh milk processed.

8 Section II. Vegetables, fruits,nuts,coffee, tea and spices 06. Bulbs and roots live trees, plants, sherub and bushes 07. Vegetables potatoes, fresh or chilled tomato, fresh or chilled onions and shallots, fresh or chilled 08. Fruits and nuts coconut, fresh coconut dried banana 09. Cooffee,tea and species
