Sin separates us from God, but Jesus brings spiritual healing & life St. Peter Worship at Key to Life Saturday, April 2 nd

Welcome to St. Peter! As we gather as God’s people for worship this Fourth Sunday in Lent the lessons, hymns and prayers emphasize how our sin has separated us from our God. But thanks be to God! Jesus, God’s Son, brings us spiritual healing and life by his death and resurrection from the dead on Easter Sunday. Therein lies our motivation and power to serve him and one another!

Welcome to St. Peter! There are friendship registers at the end of each row of chairs. Please take a moment to give us your information so that we have a record of your time with us today. Thank you!

Verse 1: Drawn to the cross, which you have blessed With healing gifts for souls distressed, To find in you my life, my rest, Christ crucified, I come.

Verse 2: How well you know my griefs and fears, Your grace abused, my misspent years; So now to you with contrite tears, Christ crucified, I come.

Verse 3: Wash me and take away each stain; Let nothing of my sin remain. For cleansing through your cross and pain, Christ crucified, I come.

Verse 4: To pledge my labor willingly, Which shall so sweet a service be That angels well might envy me, Christ crucified, I come.

Confession of Sin Pastor: We have come into the presence of God, who created us to love and to serve him as his dear children. But we have disobeyed him and deserve only his wrath and punishment. Therefore, let us confess our sins to him and plead for his mercy.

Lord of Glory, You Have Bought Us CW #486 Text: Eliza S. Alderson, Setting: HYFRYDOL Tune: Rowland H. Prichard,

Verse 1: Lord of glory, you have bought us With your lifeblood as the price, Never grudging for the lost ones That tremendous sacrifice, And with that have freely given Blessings countless as the sand To th' unthankful and the evil With your own unsparing hand.

Verse 2: Grant us hearts, dear Lord, to give you Gladly, freely, of your own. With the sunshine of your goodness Melt our thankless hearts of stone Till our cold and selfish natures, Warmed by you, at length believe That more happy and more blessed 'Tis to give than to receive.

Verse 3: Wondrous honor you have given To our humblest charity In your own mysterious sentence, "You have done it unto me." Can it be, O gracious Master, That you need what we can do Saying by your poor and needy, "Give as I have giv'n to you"?

Verse 4: Yes, the sorrow and the suff'rings Which on ev'ry hand we view Channels are for gifts and off'rings Due by solemn right to you, Right of which we may not rob you, Debt we may not choose but pay Lest that face of love and pity Turn from us another day.

Verse 5: Lord of glory, you have bought us With your lifeblood as the price, Never grudging for the lost ones That tremendous sacrifice, Give us faith to trust you boldly, Hope, to stay our souls on you; But, oh, best of all your graces With your love our love renew.
