6 Lemur Facts 1. Lemurs live on the island of Madagascar. The island is next to Africa. 2. Lemurs are not monkeys or apes. They are related to monkeys and apes. 3. There are 55 different types of lemurs. 4. Almost all lemurs have long furry tails. Lemurs use their tails to keep their balance. 5.
