19 Transform, Innovate, Lead ARNG-GSE Soldiers are eligible if the individual has: –Title 10 active duty of 90 days to 36 months on or after 09/11/01 on a contingency operation –Title 32 AGR service on or after 09/11/01 –Served 30 continuous active duty days and was discharged due to a service connected disability Eligible for 100% payment tier at 36 cumulative months of active duty service GI Bill Chapter 33 / Post 9-11

20 Transform, Innovate, Lead ARNG-GSE Benefit Summary: –Tuition and Fees In-State Public Schools: pays tuition and fees based on payment tier percentage Private schools: tuition limit of $17,500 per year –Book Stipend Tied to rate of pursuit Max of $1,000 per year –Housing Stipend Tied to rate of pursuit Fully on-line programs receive 50% No Housing stipend for AGR Soldiers 20 GI Bill Chapter 33 / Post 9-11

22 Transform, Innovate, Lead ARNG-GSE Transferable to Spouse and Dependents To be approved for transfer, a member must: –Be in Armed Forces on or after 8/1/09 –Be in Uniform –Have completed at least 6 years in the Armed Forces –SOU and extension of up to four years may be required Can transfer up to 36 months of benefits –Conversion from Ch. 30 to Ch. 33 caveat Transfer of Entitlement: Basic Eligibility

23 Transform, Innovate, Lead ARNG-GSE Spouse’s Rules for Use of Transfer –Subject to same rules of use as Soldier –Spouses of Soldier on AGR will NOT receive the housing stipend Child’s Rules for Use of Transfer –Must be completed before dependent is age 23 –Dependents may use benefits from age 18 (or date of High School graduation) to age 26 –Children are ALWAYS eligible for housing regardless of the Soldier’s status Transfer of Entitlement: Basic Eligibility

24 Transform, Innovate, Lead ARNG-GSE Transferred months may be modified by THE SOLDIER ONLY after the transfer is complete –Months not originally transferred may be added to a transfer recipient –Transferred months may be revoked from the original recipient which allows the Soldier to use those months for themselves –Months may be transferred from one recipient to another recipient Ch. 33 and Transfer is NOT SUBJECT to Power of Attorney Transfer of Entitlement: Basic Eligibility
