1 IFC Officer Elections Vice President for Community Development Vice President for Standards and Risk Management Vice President for Member Recruitment and Education Vice President for Alumni and Public Relations

2 Minimum Qualifications  The candidate must:  Be a member in good standing with his colony/chapter.  Have been a member of his colony/chapter for no less than three (3) semesters.  Have a cumulative grade point average of at least  Be able to serve the full, calendar year term.  The candidate must not:  Have more than one (1) strike or major violation from the Office of Student Accountability and Restorative Practices (OSARP).  Hold any position on his colony/chapter’s Executive Board during his term.

3 Mandatory Paperwork  This position is eligible for a stipend. In order to receive the stipend, the elected officer must meet with all appropriate offices prior to departure at the end of the fall semester, and must be able to provide the following documents:  Social Security Card (no copies, duplicates, etc.)  Driver’s License (no copies, duplicates, etc.)  Blank check or bank’s routing number (for direct deposit)  Knowledge of how to fill out Commonwealth of Virginia tax forms.

4 IFC Officer Requirements (Common among all IFC Officer Positions)  Participate in weekly 1 on 1 meetings with advisor(s).  Hold at least two (2) office hours per week in the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life.  Attend Leadership Institute (LI) – January 9-11,  Attend Southeastern IFC (SEIFC) Conference in March  Participate in duty with an Assistant Greek Coordinator as necessary.  Uphold moral and behavioral standards consistent with those of a leader in the fraternity and sorority community.

5 VP for Community Development  Advance relationships between fraternities, sororities, other student organizations, and the Harrisonburg/Rockingham community.  Assist fraternities with conflict prevention and resolution between fraternities, and between fraternities and members of the Harrisonburg/Rockingham community.  Facilitate community service projects for members of the fraternity and sorority community.  Plan and implement at least one (1) program per semester that contributes to unity in the fraternity community.  Serve as a resource to colony/chapter officers in the areas of colony/chapter and community development.

6 VP for Standards and Risk Management  In collaboration with Panhellenic and Council Advisor(s), annually review the IFC Constitution, IFC/Panhellenic Standards Policy, IFC Judicial Policy, and proposed amendments as necessary.  Plan and implement the IFC Judicial Board Hearing process.  Recruit, train and evaluate volunteers to serve on IFC Judicial Board Hearings.  Serve as a resource to colony/chapter officers in the areas of risk management and Standards Board processes.  Plan and implement at least one (1) program per semester pertaining to values, standards, and/or risk management.  Coordinate IFC duty schedule with Panhellenic Council.

7 VP for Member Recruitment and Education  Plan and implement IFC Info Night during the Spring and Fall semesters.  Evaluate fraternity new member education programs and offer suggestions for reaching new demographics.  Serve as a resource to colony/chapter officers (such as recruitment chairs and new member educators) in the areas of new/member education.  Plan/cohost and implement at least two (2) educational programs per semester.  Possible topics include:  scholarship, risk management, leadership development, service/philanthropy, campus/community image, membership/recruitment, sportsmanship/wellness, healthy masculinity, etc.

8 VP for Alumni and Public Relations  Coordinate IFC presence on social media (Facebook, Twitter, FSL website)  Work closely with IFC Executive Board members to keep news media informed of favorable publicity concerning member organizations’ behavior.  Serve as a resource to colony/chapter officers in the areas of alumni and public relations.  Plan/implement at least two (2) programs per semester related to social media use, alumni relations, or positive publicity.
