It deals with the design and development of equipment and processes for the manufacturing of bio-based products such as food, feed, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, chemicals, polymers, and etc, from biological materials. Is also a conglomerate of mathematics, biology and chemical design, and consists of various spectrums like studying of fermentors (mode of operations etc.), large scale production of biological product, optimization of yield in the end-product and the quality of end-product and microorganism cellular-based productions.is a chemical engineering discipline associated with the production of biological related entities such as design and operation of fermentation systems, biopharmaceuticals, biofuels, development of food processing systems, application and testing of product separation technologies, design of instrumentation to monitor and control biological processes, and many more.

20Integrated ProjectIntegrated Project is a mini project intended for the second year and third year students of Bioprocess Engineering Programme integrating various courses in a particular semester. The Integrated Project provides students with introductory elements of engineering design as to prepare the students for Bioprocess Plant Design I and II (ERT424 and ERT428) that need to be taken in your fourth year of study.
