Contents Introduction to Access Control and User Credentials Standalone Controllers Control Panels Readers Accessories Part Codes System Configurations Appendix – Technical Data

Introduction Access control is a system which enables an authority to control access to areas and resources in a given physical facility. Conditions of granted access WHOM WHERE HOW WHEN Controlled Access Points Authorized Individuals Specific Time Parameters User Credentials

Introduction to Access Control Lock and Key Can secure a door. Key will always open lock, regardless of time. Lost key requires lock replacement. No audit of granted access. Bunches of keys are heavy to carry. Losing a bunch of keys requires many expensive lock changes Electronic Access Control Can secure a door. Time profiles can be added to access levels. Lost card key can be deactivated. Any card can open one or all doors. Full audit trail of successful and denied access. No need to replace working locks. Door monitoring to signal ‘Door Held’ or ‘Forced’ open. Credentials can be combined for higher levels of security, card key, PIN number, biometric.

Samsung Techwin Access Control - Credentials Low Physical / Tangible Object. Example – a card key. Med Something you know. Example - a PIN. High Something you have. Example – a fingerprint.

Samsung Techwin Access Control – Solutions Range  STANDALONE RANGE  Entry Level, single credential standalone.  Medium Secure, duel credential standalone.  High Security, triple credential standalone.  PC Connection possible for Time &Attendance readers.  SOFTWARE, INTELLEGENT CONTROLLERS AND READERS  Scalable software built on SQL Server  Distributed processing.  1,2,3 and 4 door intelligent control.  Proximity / Smart Card, PIN and Biometric Readers.  TCP/IP Networked.  Video Integration.  Command and Control.

Samsung Techwin Access Control The Samsung Access Control Range offers aesthetically designed products built to increasing design specifications to provide a cost effective security solution tailored to an individuals need and budget. The standalone range offers the most cost effective small system solution and has high security options, utilising fingerprint recognition in conjunction with PIN and proximity for the most secure environments. Beyond the standalone range is the Samsung Access Management System – SAMS – which is built on a SQL Server database structure and includes multiple communication protocols, video integration, command and control, reporting and language options for medium to large businesses.

What are Standalone Controllers? Standalone controllers: do not require a connection to a computer. can be programmed locally once the unit is installed and has power connected. card key administration can be performed locally at the device

Properties of Standalone Controllers Cost effective complete door control. Proximity / Smart Card, PIN, Password and Fingerprint options. Direct control of door lock. – Power Fail Safe / Power Fail Secure. Products to satisfy increased security needs with multiple user credential and vandal resistant options.

Standalone Controller – Questions?

Access Control Intelligent Controllers Intelligent door controllers provide distributed processing for the interface of access control readers, keypads, inputs and outputs back to a Host Computer.

Intelligent Controllers - Distributed Processing Distributed processing allows each intelligent controller to operate independent of the host computer with most of the decisions made at the controller. This provides instant response for door control and alarm sensing while leaving the host computer with more processing power for actions like alarm response and database updates.

Intelligent Controllers State-of-the-art Controllers at affordable prices Intelligent control of 1,2,3 or 4 Doors Communication: TCP/IP, RS232, RS485 / RS422 Data Continuity after power failure Programmable Inputs / Outputs Up to 50,000 users Up to 50,000 event buffer Wiegand compatible readers
